Participation of IFAS and Central Asia in the Kick-off Meeting for the 10th World Water Forum

On the sidelines of the Kick-off Meeting for the 10th World Water Forum, which takes place on 15-16 of February in Jakarta, meetings were held between the Chairman of the Executive Committee of IFAS, Mr. Sulton Rahimzoda with the Minister for Public Works and Housing of Indonesia, H.E. Mr. Basuki Hadimuljono and the President of the World Water Council H.E. Mr. Loic Fauchon.

Within the framework of these meetings, the issue of participation of the Central Asian region and IFAS in the preparatory process of the 10th World Water Forum, which will be held on 18-24 May 2024 in Bali, Indonesia was discussed.The preparatory process of the Forum includes political, thematic and regional processes. For the regional process, for each region, leading organizations are identified that will organize the preparations of the region for the 10th Water Forum.An agreement was reached that the Executive Committee of IFAS, as before, will conduct preparatory work for Central Asia.

In this context, it was noted that the preparatory process in the region can start within the framework of the International Conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of IFAS, which is scheduled for 5-7 June in Dushanbe.The parties stressed the importance of continuing joint work in this direction and determining the next steps in this context.Sulton Rahimzoda, in turn, invited Minister Basuki and President Fauchon to take part in the Conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of IFAS.
