Discussion of issues of cooperation within the framework of the implementation of the Plan on the organization and holding of anniversary events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of IFAS

In order to expand the scope of cooperation and attract wide attention of the diplomatic corps to the activities of IFAS, from 24 to 28 January 2023 meetings were held between the Chairman of the Executive Committee of IFAS, Mr. Sulton Rahimzoda, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Toshihiro Aiki, Ambassador of Great Britain in the Republic of Tajikistan by Mr. Timothy Marshall and the Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Raimundas Karoblis.

At the meetings, the plans of the Executive Committee of IFAS for 2023 were discussed, including the Plan for organizing and holding anniversary events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of IFAS, approved by the President of IFAS, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E Emomali Rahmon.

Mr. Sulton Rahimzoda informed the Ambassadors about the Executive Committee of IFAS holding a Special High-Level Session on Central Asia on 23 March 2023 at the UN Headquarters in New York as part of the UN 2023 Water Conference, as well as about the preparation process for the International conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of IFAS, which is scheduled for June 2023 in Dushanbe.

The Chairman also informed about the festive events planned by the Executive Committee of IFAS on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of IFAS in the countries of Central Asia and noted the importance of the participation and contribution of the international community in this process.

Emphasizing the role of IFAS in coordinating and ensuring synergy among the countries of Central Asia in water cooperation, the Ambassadors expressed their readiness for further fruitful cooperation within the preparatory process of the planned events, as well as active participation in the events themselves.
