On 10 January 2023 in New York, Mr. Sulton Rahimzoda, Chairman of the Executive Committee of IFAS, and Ms. Usha Rao-Monari, UN Under-Secretary-General, Associate Administrator of UNDP discussed priority issues of cooperation between the Executive Committee of IFAS and UNDP.
During the meeting, specific emphasis was placed on strengthening cooperation in the implementation of the Plan for the organization and holding of anniversary events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of IFAS, including the holding of a Special High-Level Session on Central Asia within the framework of the UN 2023 Water Conference, which will be held on 22-24 March 2023 in New York.
Particular attention was paid to the preparatory process of the International Conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of IFAS, which is scheduled to be held in June 2023 in Dushanbe.The Chair stressed the importance of the participation and contribution of development partners, including the UNDP, in this process.
Ms. Usha Rao-Monari noted the active work of the EC IFAS at the regional and international levels and expressed the interest and readiness of UNDP for further fruitful cooperation in the above areas.
