On the sidelines of the World Water Week in Stockholm, Sweden, on August 29, 2022, a meeting was held between the Chairman of the Executive Committee of IFAS, Mr. Sulton Rahimzoda and the Chief of Water Sector Group of the Asian Development Bank, Ms. Neeta Pokhrel.
During the meeting, issues of cooperation between the Executive Committee of IFAS and the Asian Development Bank were discussed, including in solving water and environmental issues in the region and promoting the strengthening of regional cooperation among the countries of Central Asia through the implementation of ASBP-4.
The discussion also covered the direction of cooperation in climate change mitigation, assistance in improving the region’s environmental sustainability and cooperation within the water component of the ADB’s Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC Water Pillar) program.
Mr. Sulton Rahimzdoda provided an overview of the plans of the Executive Committee of IFAS until the end of 2023, including holding a number of events dedicated to the celebration of the 30th anniversary of IFAS. Ms. Neeta Pokhrel expressed ADB’s readiness for further cooperation and active participation of ADB in the implementation of joint actions in the region.
