“Run Blue” arrived in Tajikistan

On 16 May 2022, the international marathon “Run Blue” started in Tajikistan in the direction of Panjakent – Ayni – Dushanbe.

In Tajikistan, global activist and marathoner Mina Guli plans to run 11 marathons in the country’s most extreme places under the motto “Water for Sustainable Development” covering 458.2 km.

This run is the Central Asian part of the global marathon #RunBlue, organized in honor of the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028 in order to attract the attention of a wide range of the world community to water issues, as well as to the preparatory process of the UN 2023 Water Conference.

It is important to note that in Central Asia the marathon started on 10 May in Muynak of the Republic of Uzbekistan and will end on 10 June 2022 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.Starting her run from the Aral Sea and continuing along the Amu Darya River, Sarez Lake, and the Fedchenko Glacier, Mina Guli will complete the Central Asian part of the marathon with a presentation of the results of the Marathon at the 2nd High-Level International Conference on International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028 which will be held in Dushanbe from 6 to 9 June 2022.
