On 26 of March 2022, the 9th World Water Forum completed its work in Dakar, Senegal.
The Forum focused on four priorities, including water security and sanitation, water for rural development, cooperation, means and tools, and an international discussion forum to address issues related to water supply, water management, climate change and sanitation.
The Forum was attended by 300,000 participants, including independents, government representatives of Member States, the UN, governmental and non-governmental organizations, academia, the Congress of Financial Institutions, youth representatives and stakeholders.
The Forum also hosted a Ministerial Segment, which resulted in the adoption of the Blue Deal Declaration for water security and sanitation to protect peace and development.
The Executive Committee of IFAS actively participated in the Forum by organizing an exhibition dedicated to the protection of the Aral Sea, a special session entitled “Cooperation of the countries of Central Asia to protect water security in the context of climate research”, and also participated in speeches and presentations on various panel and thematic sessions.
