On 11 of February 2022, the Chairman of the Executive Committee of IFAS, Mr. Sulton Rahimzoda, participated in the International Conference “Equality, Diversity and Inclusion: Water Unites Us” with the theme “What role does water have in national economics plans what reforms are necessary to move ahead; recommendations from the Tajikistan experience”.
In his speech, the Chairman noted that water plays an important role in health, food security, industrial development, and employment, as well as a key role in achieving sustainable development in Tajikistan.
The Chairman also provided information on the National Water Strategy of Tajikistan till 2030, the purpose of which is to achieve strategic goals for long-term integrated water resources management, as well as sustainable development in Tajikistan.
It should be noted that this conference was held at the initiative of the Royal Academy of Sciences and International Trust (RASIT) in cooperation with a number of UN member states, including Tajikistan.
