On the 1st of December 2021, the Chairman of the Executive Committee of IFAS, Mr. Sulton Rahimzoda, participated in the Panel Session “Water and Food Security”, which was held within the framework of the International Exhibition-Summit “Planet Budapest 2021”. He presented the situation on water and food security in Central Asian countries and noted the important role of water in food production, energy, environmental protection, job creation, adaptation, and mitigation of climate change.
Sulton Rahimzoda also noted the urgent need to strengthen measures to address the problem of water scarcity in the Central Asian region. In this situation, the role of sustainable water resources management is vital for maintaining peace and stability, economic development, and well-being of the population of the IFAS founder states.
The Planet Budapest 2021 International Summit Exhibition is held from 30 November to 5 of December and attracts 180 exhibitors and focuses on sectors of a sustainable economy such as water management, sustainable agriculture, smart cities, energy efficiency, and green transport solutions.
