Participation of the Chairman of EC IFAS at the High-Level Session Water Resilient Food Systems: an essential climate action pathway

Chairman of the Executive Committee of IFAS Mr. Sulton Rahimzoda participated in the discussion panel organized by IWMI, FAO, IUCN, and other partners on the 9th  of November 2021 in the Water Pavilion COP26.

The session was organized to highlight the urgent need to balance water and food security needs as an important path to climate change adaptation and mitigation.

The session was attended by policymakers and legislators, farmers and water specialists, financiers, donors, developers, and researchers from various water and food systems that are tackling the challenges associated with climate and biodiversity crises.

Sulton Rahimzoda in his speech noted the important role of IFAS, as a regional institution, in solving water problems in the region, especially in the context of the impact of climate change and achieving food security.

The speech also noted the developing cooperation of the states of the region to achieve water and food security, climate resilience, as well as joint efforts to implement new projects in this direction, including through approval of the ASBP-4.
