On 11 January 2023 in New York at UNICEF Headquarters, Mr. Sulton Rahimzoda, Chairman of the Executive Committee of IFAS, and Mr. Omar Abdi, Deputy Executive Director of UNICEF discussed priority issues of cooperation between the Executive Committee of IFAS and UNICEF.
During the meeting, special emphasis was placed on strengthening cooperation in the implementation of the Plan on organizing and holding of activities dedicated to the 30th anniversary of IFAS, including the holding of a Special High-Level Session on Central Asia within the framework of the UN 2023 Water Conference, which will be held on 22 – 24 March 2023 in New York and the International Conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of IFAS, which is scheduled for June 2023 in Dushanbe.
The Chair stressed the importance of the participation and contribution of development partners, including UNICEF, in this process. Mr. Omar Abdi noted the active work of the EC IFAS at the regional and international levels and expressed the interest and readiness of UNICEF for further fruitful cooperation in the above areas.
