The first item on the agenda of the meeting of the Board of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea, which took place on 28 November in Dushanbe, was the issue of holding the meeting of the Council of Heads of the Founding States of IFAS on 14-15 September 2023 in Dushanbe.
As a result of this discussion, the Board members instructed the relevant ministries and departments of the countries of the region, and structural divisions of IFAS to assist in organizing and holding the meeting of the Council of the Heads of the IFAS Founding States at a high level.
Being the supreme body of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea, meetings of the Council of Heads of the Founding States of IFAS are held once during the chairmanship of each founding – state of the Fund.
Within the framework of the meeting of the Council of Heads of the Founding States of IFAS, decisions are made on the most important issues of the regional agenda in the field of water resources, environmental protection and improvement of the socio-economic situation in the Aral Sea basin, and the activities of the Fund itself.
