Meeting of the Board of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea

On 28 November 2022, the third meeting of the Board of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea was held during the period of Tajikistan’s chairmanship in the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea.

The purpose of the next meeting of the Board of IFAS was to inform the members of the Board of IFAS about the activities of the Executive Committee of IFAS during the period of Tajikistan’s chairmanship, about the progress in implementing the projects of the Action Program to Assist the Countries of the Aral Sea Basin (ASBP-4), about the results achieved by the Working Group on improving the organizational structure and legal framework of IFAS, on the results of participation in the 9th World Water Forum and the 2nd International High-Level Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028, organization and holding of anniversary events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of IFAS , preparations for the meeting of the Council of the Heads of the Founding-states of IFAS in Dushanbe, which is scheduled for 14-15 September 2023, as well as on the preparation and participation of the Central Asian countries at the UN 2023 Water Conference in New York.

The meeting was attended by members of the Board of IFAS – Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, H.E. Mr. Ganiev Shuhrat Madaminovich, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E. Mr. Ziyozoda Sulaymon Rizoi, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Yazmyradow Annageldi Orazberdievich, Minister of Ecology, Geology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan H.E. Brekeshev Serikkali, other government officials of the IFAS founding states, members of the IFAS Executive Committee, representatives of the embassies of Central Asian countries in Tajikistan, and also representatives of structural subdivisions of IFAS.

The meeting of the IFAS Board ended with the signing ceremony of 9 Decisions of the IFAS Board.
