On 4th of March 2022, a meeting was held between the Chairman of the Executive Committee of IFAS, Mr. Sulton Rahimzoda and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Toshihiro Aiki
During the meeting, the parties discussed priority areas of cooperation between the Executive Committee of IFAS and the Government of Japan, including within the framework of the Dialogue Central Asia plus Japan. Providing the population with clean drinking water, disaster risk reduction, as well as training and retraining of personnel were noted as possible areas for cooperation.
The parties noted the active participation of the EC IFAS in the preparation and holding of the 4th Asia-Pacific Water Summit (APWS), which will be held on 23-24 of April 2022 in Kumamoto, Japan, and also mentioned the importance of the participation of a high-level delegation of Japan in the work of Second International High-Level Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028 (6-9 June 2022).
