Presentation of the 4th Asia-Pacific Water Summit at the Executive Committee of IFAS

On 18 January 2022, a meeting was held between the members of the Executive Committee of IFAS and the coordinator of the High-Level Panel of Experts and Leaders on Water and Natural Disasters (HELP), and Professor of the National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies of Japan, Mr. Kenzo Hiroki.

During the meeting, Kenzo Hiroki made a presentation on the 4th Asia-Pacific Water Summit, including the program, structure, and thematic sessions of the Summit, and provided information on global water challenges.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the participation of the Executive Committee of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea at various sessions of the 4th Asia-Pacific Water Summit in order to present the Central Asian region at the Summit, as well as the organization by the Executive Committee of IFAS, together with other partners, of two thematic sessions of the Summit – “Water and Food” and “Water and climate”.

The 4th Asia-Pacific Water Summit will be held on 23-24 April 2022 in Kumamoto, Japan, and is considered as one of the preparatory events for the UN Conference on the Midterm Review of the implementation of the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028, which will be held in 2023 in New York, co-chaired by the Republic of Tajikistan and the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
