On 4 October 2021, the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea, Mr. Sulton Rahimzoda made a presentation on “Possible recovery strategies in Central Asia and opportunities for cooperation” at the 10th meeting of the EU–Central Asia Working Group on Environment and Climate Change (WGECC) “Green Recovery: New Opportunities for Cooperation”.
Within the framework of the meeting, the priority areas of regional cooperation between the European Union and Central Asia in the field of water, environment and climate change, the help strengthen the political dialogue in these areas of Central Asia through the standards of the European Union, as well as the stimulation of investments in the relevant sectors of the economy to achieve the reduction of pollution, caused by human activity, including CO2 emissions.
Representatives of the governments of Central Asian countries, international and regional organizations, scientists, experts and other stakeholders participate to exchange information, practices and policies in various fields related to climate change and the environment.
