On 8 June 2022 IN Dushanbe as part of the Second International High-Level Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028. a meeting was held between the Chairman of the Executive Committee of IFAS, Mr. Sulton Rahimzoda, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Ms. Dinara Kemelova.
The Chairman welcomed and thanked Ms. Kemelova D. for her active participation in the Second Dushanbe High-Level Conference. In turn, Ms. Kemelova D. thanked for the warm welcome and noted the importance and relevance of the Dushanbe conference for drawing the attention of the world community to the value of water as a vital resource, caring for it, and preserving it for future generations.
The parties also discussed an important range of issues related to the participation of the Kyrgyz side in the further activities of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea, which has been suspended since 2016. Chairman of the Executive Committee of IFAS Mr. Sulton Rahimzoda stressed the importance of the participation of Kyrgyzstan, as a country – a zone of flow formation, in the activities of the Fund and further reform to improve the organizational structure and legal framework of IFAS, which is currently intensified and tends to achieve success.
Ms. Kemelova D., in turn, noted the importance of the IFAS reform and assured the leadership of the Executive Committee in the resumption of the participation of the Kyrgyz Republic in the activities of the Fund in case of successful completion of the reform of the organizational structure and legal framework of IFAS, considering the interests of all member states of the Fund.
