Today 22nd of February 2022 the meeting of the Board of IFAS was held in Dushanbe.
Within the framework of the meeting, important issues of the regional agenda were discussed, including the activities of the Executive Committee of IFAS during the period of Tajikistan’s chairmanship, the progress in implementing the projects of the Action program to assist the countries of the Aral Sea Basin (ASBP-4), the achieved results of the activities of the Working Group to improve the organizational structure and legal framework of IFAS, the progress of preparation of the countries of Central Asia for the 9th World Water Forum, participation of IFAS in the Second International High-Level Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028, which is scheduled for 6-9 June 2022, in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, as well as the approval of the “Regional program on environmental protection for Sustainable Development in Central Asia”.
The meeting was attended by the members of the Board of IFAS – First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Mr. Sklyar Roman Vasilievich (online), Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, H.E. Mr. Ganiev Shukhrat Madaminovich (online), Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, H.E. Mr. Ziyozoda Sulaimon Rizoi, Chairman of the State Committee for Water Resources of Turkmenistan, H.E. Mr. Bayjanov Guzgeldi, other officials of the governments of the state founders of IFAS, members of the Executive Committee of IFAS, representatives of the embassies of Central Asian countries located in Tajikistan, as well as representatives of structural divisions of IFAS.
The meeting of the Board of IFAS was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic online, as well as representatives of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Republic of Tajikistan offline as an observer.
The meeting of the IFAS Board ended with the signing ceremony of the Decisions of the IFAS Board on the above issues.
