Central Asian Sub-regional Preparatory Conference for the 9th World Water Forum

On 18-20 of October 2021, the Central Asian Sub-regional Preparatory Conference for the 9th World Water Forum – “Water Security for Peace and Development” will be held in Dushanbe.

 The conference is being organized by the Executive Committee of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea in partnership with the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Tajikistan and other development partners.

The main goal of the conference is to identify and discuss the main directions and regional processes, as well as formulate and agree on a regional agenda for the 9th World Water Forum in accordance with its priority topics and the most important issues for the Central Asian region.

The conference also aims to strengthen regional cooperation and partnerships at all levels to assist in the implementation of the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development”, 2018-2028.

 It is expected that the Conference will be attended by representatives of water management organizations and other stakeholders of Central Asia, the World Water Council, the Secretariat of the 9th World Water Forum, international and regional organizations, NGOs, civil society, scientists, experts, and other stakeholders.
