On 26 of July 2021, the Chairman of the Executive Committee IFAS, Mr. Sulton Rahimzoda made a speech at the Fourth Central Asian Conference on Climate Change (CACCC-2021) – “Regional Cooperation for a Climate Resilient Future”, which takes place from July 26 to July 27 in Hyatt Regency in the city of Dushanbe.
In his speech, the Chairman of EC IFAS noted that the issue of climate change is a priority on the agenda of EC IFAS during the chairmanship of the Republic of Tajikistan and stressed out that strengthening dialogue between the governments of the countries of the region within the framework of this conference will serve as an important basis for making science-based and climate-sustainable decisions on adaptation and mitigation of the consequences of climate change in the region.
It should be noted that CACCC-2021 was organized within the framework of the “Climate Adaptation and Mitigation Program for Aral Sea Basin” (CAMP4ASB) with financial support from the World Bank. The conference will consider issues and conditions for making climate-based decisions at the country and regional level, new knowledge, as well as discuss the readiness of countries on the way to the 26th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC (COP-26), which will be held in November 2021 in Glasgow.
Within the framework of CACCC-2021, a number of thematic sessions are also held on the issues of intersectoral and interministerial cooperation at a high level, scientific research and the role of young scientists.
