On July 27, 2021, within the framework of the CACCC, a bilateral meeting of the Chairman of the Executive Committee of IFAS Mr. Sulton Rahimzoda and the Regional Adviser of the Program (GIZ) “Green Central Asia”: Regional Initiative on Climate and Security in Central Asia and Afghanistan Mr. Alexandr Nikolayenko took place.
At the meeting possible areas of cooperation between EC IFAS and GIZ in the framework of the implementation of the initiative of the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany “Green Central Asia” were discussed.
It was noted that within the framework of this initiative, a draft “Regional Action Plan of the Joint Policy Dialogue on Climate, Environment and Security” was developed, which was drawn up in accordance with the Berlin Declaration of 28 of January 2020.
The Action Plan forms the basis for the Regional Policy Dialogue, which covers four main themes for the “Green Central Asia” Policy Dialogue Platform.
1. Impact of climate change on regional water resources management
2. Impact of climate change on land use
3.Cooperation and contribution to international instruments
4. Waste management
The parties also noted the importance of EC IFAS participation in the implementation of the Regional Action Plan.
