4th Asia-Pacific Water Summit, Kumamoto, Japan 2022

The 4th Asia-Pacific Water Summit (APWS) will be held on April 23-24, 2022 in Kumamoto, Japan, where high-level delegates, including heads of states and representatives of international organizations from the Asia-Pacific region will discuss various water related issues. The Summit is organized by the Asia-Pacific Water Forum and the Kumamoto City Administration, Japan.

The 4th Asia-Pacific Water Summit is dedicated to the theme “Water for Sustainable Development – Best Practices and the Next Generation”. The Summit will discuss the implementation of the recommendations of the Yangon Declaration adopted at the 3rd APWS, aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.

The Summit will also showcase the best practices of Kumamoto City in groundwater conservation, as well as ongoing efforts to recover from the 2016 earthquake in Kumamoto City.
